People get fired from my school district for comments they make on their blogs that might cast a disparaging view of the school district. Not only educational leaders but all employees of the school systems need to be aware of the information they post on their blog and who the audience could be.
"An educational blog is an online posting of your professional thoughts, questions, or experiences at a Website which others can read and leave a response." (Dana, p.150) I like that quote. Keep it professional.
Kathy, I agreed with you that it should be professional. However, a true leader will reflect on and voice his/her thoughts on directions the district is moving toward or on specific program that the district is trying to implement. With that being said, if the "power to be" knows you are blogging your thoughts and let said you happen to disagree with the district strategic plan or certain program-is there going to be repercussion? I know of an instance where that happened.
